Luling Main Street’s façade grant is offered to Main Street businesses to improve the façade of their buildings. Eligibility is determined by the Main Street Board upon completion of the façade improvements as shown on the application. Awards of 50% of the cost up to $500 are given to the approved business at completion of the project. Luling Main Street is now offering a new awning grant until March 2011 or until funds are no longer available. The new grant offers up to 50% or up to $750, whichever is less for awning repairs or replacement. Call Suzanne Kearney at (830) 875-3214 extension 3 for details.
The property was acquired by Lloyd & JaNelle Barnes in 2007. Renovations to both the exterior and interior began in 2009 with completion in 2010.
Improvements to the exterior include leveling, replacement of skirting, painting, and installing decking and handicap entrance. Circular windows in each gable were also uncovered and replaced. Numerous renovations were performed to the interior as well.
